Governmental efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi’s efforts to contain the novel coronavirus has been applauded by everyone who knows what has been done in the emirate.
Initially, when carriers of COVID-19 were found in Abu Dhabi, experts showed their concerns on how well can the government handle the situation as Abu Dhabi as it invites a lot of tourism which means a lot people travelling from every part of the world and so the spread of the virus will prone in such an area. But to cancel out all of these doubts, the government took some immediate steps to safeguard Abu Dhabi.
Be it the Ministry of Education announcing a four-week closure of all public and private schools and higher education institutions across the UAE starting 8 March 2020 and further extending it to Suspending prayers in all places of worship, every possible step has been taken to stop mass gathering and abide by social distancing principle. Not only this but to ensure that the education and learning process is not compromised while lockdown, Abu Dhabi On 22 March 2020, started educating students of schools and higher education institutes through distance learning.
The local government offices in Abu Dhabi adopted a remote working system in a bid to ensure the health and safety of its employees and customers. The UAE, especially Abu Dhabi, has a coherent technical infrastructure for employees to complete their tasks while working remotely, and participate in meetings and discussions through tech help.
Sporting events were postponed, Visa’s were suspended, flights were suspended and every other measure was taken to keep the emirate safe. Even as Abu Dhabi plans to open, it is taking all the measures that can ensure public health safety. For example, Drivers are permitted to cross the border if they can show police the results of a negative Covid-19 test. And even travellers can enter when shown the result of COVI-19 test as negative in the past 48 hours and then travellers can continue their journey into Abu Dhabi, keeping in mind that masks and social distancing are mandatory.
